The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) is a scientific organisation with the following objectives:
·         to preserve life by improving standards of resuscitation in Europe and
·         to co-ordinate the activities of European organisations with a major interest in resuscitation medicine and emergency medical care.
 
The main activities of the ERC are:
·         To produce resuscitation guidelines for Europe, in co-operation with the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).
·         To facilitate resuscitation courses for lay and professional rescuers.
·         To organise scientific congresses.
·         To promulgate research into resuscitation matters and publish the findings through the peer reviewed scientific journal Resuscitation
 
ERC is affiliated with 28 national resuscitation councils throughout Europe.
 
In order to develop its growing activities in Europe further, the ERC is looking for a:
 
 

(Secretary –) Course coordinator (m/f)

 
 
Position
The Course coordinator takes an important role in the administrative processes of the ERC (memberships, courses, general correspondence). The ERC offices are situated in Edegem-Antwerp (Belgium). The appointee will work in direct co-operation with the Executive Director, the Executive Office Manager, the Management Assistant and the Congress Management Assistant. You will report directly to the Executive Office Manager.
 
Job description
·         You will be responsible for the following processes:
o   administering the ERC memberships;
o   administering the Course Management System (administrative online system for the ERC courses in Europe);
o   preparing orders for customers;
o   taking care of the general correspondence (mails, e-mails, phone calls);
o   organising pilot courses of the ERC.
·         You will staff the ERC booth on congresses of other scientific organisations in Europe.
 
 
Profile
·         The post is for a bachelor graduate who has had experience in a similar job.
·         The post requires good skills in both written and spoken English. If your native language is not Dutch, you must also be prepared to learn the basics of Dutch. Other languages would be an advantage.
·         The applicant must have good communicational skills and can cope with stress.
·         The post requires a hands-on mentality. The applicant will have to work on his/her own and take responsibility.
·         A flair for administration, planning and organisation.
·         A loyal, professional and flexible attitude.
·         The applicant must be well organised and focused.
·         He/she has skills to prepare a budget for a certain project.
·         The post requires that the applicant should:
o    Be willing to travel abroad occasionally as well as the occasional evening and weekend.
o    Be prepared to undertake additional training when needed.
·         The successful applicant should be experienced in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) and be prepared for further training.
