Hi.

I am part of a group of teachers participating in the training of approximately 500 students per year, using the recommendations of the ERC.

We have no personal protective equipment during training (use disinfecting alcohol to 70), we would like to know whether to keep the 30:2 ratio, making the 2 breaths directly on the dummy, while disinfection during the practice sessions training in the current context of pandemic flu.

Thank you very much.

In my opinion, if you follow the dummy's manufacturers infection prevention guidelines you will be okay.
Laerdal have a seperate exhaust port so the breath does not return to the rescuer, therefore the only risk is skin contact while doing mouth to mouth. Cleaning inbetween users is necessary to maange this risk.
Non-laerdal dummies have a variety of other mehods of infeciton control, so their manufacturers guidance should be followed.
If you are still concerned, contact the dummy manufacturer and ask for specific guidance.
