The Young ERC Resuscitation Science Masterclass (RSM) aims to connect, inspire, and support the growth of the next generation of resuscitation scientists worldwide through education, networking and collaboration.
Why you should join the Resuscitation Science Masterclass:
Network with your fellow participants and senior researchers.
Strengthen your science communication skills.
Develop your research questions and proposals in resuscitation science.
Grow your competencies to conduct resuscitation science projects.
Strengthen your skills for critical appraisal of the scientific literature.
Join an in-person capstone event to conclude the one-year programme.
Target audience:
All aspiring researchers with a strong interest in resuscitation science are invited to apply. Participants should be in the early stage of their scientific career and have a basic understanding of research fundamentals. There is no age limit to participate. Applications from students, trainees and professionals from all clinical and non-clinical backgrounds involved in resuscitation science are invited.

Collaboration with Resuscitation Plus:
The Resuscitation Science Masterclass is organised in collaboration with the fully open-access peer-reviewed journal Resuscitation Plus. This collaboration enables the active involvement of early career researchers into the peer-review process. Additionally, the journal has generously supported publications emerging from the Resuscitation Science Masterclass.
Capstone event:
This one-year programme concludes with a three-day in-person meeting featuring interactive workshops where participants work in small groups with experienced mentors to design a collaborative research project to be implemented after the masterclass. The capstone event also provides valuable opportunities for networking and personal exchange, making it the highlight of the masterclass.
Masterclass faculty:
Participants will learn from international experts in resuscitation science and their fellow masterclass participants.
Faculty from current and previous editions:
Gavin Perkins, Koen Monsieurs, Kasper G. Lauridsen, Therese Djärv, Robert Greif, Laurie J. Morrison, Joyce Yeung, Theresa Olasveengen, Sebastian Schnaubelt, Audrey Blewer, Lars W. Selection process and timeline:
Applications will be assessed by two independent reviewers based on pre-specified criteria. The combined reviewer assessments are the foundation for the selection of applicants. Overall diversity in terms of professional background, gender and geography will be balanced across the 28 selected participants. All applicants will be informed about the selection process outcome via email. Please ensure regular access to the email provided in the form. Selected applicants must actively confirm their participation in the Resuscitation Science Masterclass.
