Basic Instructor Course
The Basic Instructor Course (BIC) prepares selected candidates to become ERC-certified instructors in Basic Life Support and AED training.
To train as many Basic Life Support (BLS) providers as possible across Europe and beyond, the European Resuscitation Council (ERC) developed the Basic Instructor Course (BIC). The course is intended for anyone who has completed a BLS course and is interested in teaching and promoting Basic Life Support knowledge and skills.
The BIC course focuses on teaching techniques, interactive lectures, and demonstrations. Successful participants receive the ERC Instructor Candidate Certificate and become Instructor Candidates. They achieve full Instructor status after teaching on two ERC courses.
Candidates must hold an ERC BLS or PBLS Provider certificate to enrol in this course.
