Basic Life Support
The aim of the Basic Life Support / AED provider course is to enable each candidate to gain competency in both delivery of BLS and use of an AED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) is the first level of care for someone in cardiac arrest. During this course, certified ERC instructors guide you through both CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and the safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
The training is interactive and hands-on, focusing on essential life-saving actions that anyone can perform. AEDs are now widely available in Europe – this course ensures you know how to use one when needed. If no AED is available, you will learn how to deliver effective BLS while waiting for professional help.
BLS is the foundation of all resuscitation training. Competence in BLS is required before moving on to advanced ERC courses.
A Refresher Seminar BLS is organised at medical events, offering participants the opportunity to update and refresh their skills.
There are no specific requirements for entry to this course. Anyone may enrol in a Basic Life Support course.
