European Paediatric Advanced Life Support
The European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) course prepares healthcare professionals to manage critically ill children, infants and newborns during the first hour of illness, and to prevent progression to cardiac arrest.
The European Paediatric Advanced Life Support (EPALS) course is a 2–3 day programme for healthcare professionals who are likely to be involved in paediatric resuscitation – either as team members or team leaders, in or out of hospital.
The course combines advanced paediatric resuscitation knowledge with extensive hands-on practice and simulation. Emphasis is placed on teamwork, leadership and non-technical skills, alongside medical management of complex paediatric emergencies.
The EPALS course is aimed at all healthcare professionals expected to take part in the resuscitation of a child, infant or newborn – in hospital or pre-hospital settings.
