Immediate Life Support
The Immediate Life Support (ILS) course equips healthcare providers with the essential knowledge and skills needed to manage critically ill patients and cardiac arrest in the initial phase, until the resuscitation team takes over.
The Immediate Life Support (ILS) course is a 1-day multidisciplinary training for healthcare professionals at all levels. It builds on the basics of BLS, adding more diagnostic and management skills such as airway techniques, ECG recognition, and safe defibrillation.
Through skill stations, lectures, and simulated scenarios, participants practice structured patient assessment, teamwork, and early interventions in life-threatening emergencies. The ILS course is designed as the first-line resuscitation training for healthcare providers and is also the stepping stone to the Advanced Life Support (ALS) course.
There are currently no specific entry requirements other than being a healthcare professional. In the future, pre-course preparation on the ERC CoSy platform will become mandatory.
