What is the Right Course ?
The “right” CPR course depends on who you are and why you need it.
Basic Life Support (BLS) / AED course → Best for most people. You learn how to do chest compressions, give rescue breaths, and use an AED (defibrillator).
Pediatric Basic Life Support (PBLS) → Also for everyone, but made for example for parents, babysitters, or childcare workers. Focuses on babies and children.
Immediate Life Support (ILS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) → For physicians, nurses, or paramedics. Much more detailed and medical.
Immediate Paediatric Life Support (EPILS) and Advanced PaediatricLife Support (EPALS) → For physicians, nurses, or paramedics. Much more detailed and medical and focused on children and baby’s
Neonatal Life Support (NLS)→ For physicians, nurses, or paramedics. Much more detailed and medical and focused on CPR for newborns.
How to choose?
If you just want to help in an emergency → Basic Life support (BLS)/ AED is enough.
If you work with kids → Pediatric CPR is also important.
If your job requires it (healthcare) → you’ll might need ALS/ILS/EPALS/EPILS/NLS.
The most important thing is: take a course that gives you hands-on practice, not just theory.
