Launched the third European cardiac arrest epidemiology project, focusing on describing key time intervals in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) management, time from call to EMS arrival on scene, time from cardiac arrest to start CPR, time from EMS arrival to delivery of patient to hospital
Utilises cardiac arrest registries for data collection.
ERC Cardiac Arrest Dashboard provides insights into OHCA characteristics, treatments, and outcomes in Europe.
The Global Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest Registries (GOHCAR) met in Vietnam to further evolve collaborations between Europe and regional registries from around the world. A summary of the group’s ambition is available at Resuscitation Plus.
The ERC / EuReCa collaborators made a substantial contribution to the update of the Utstein international standards for cardiac arrest (co-leads JT Grasner, J Bray), published in Resuscitation.
As work continues on the 2025 Epidemiology section for Guidelines 2025, it is timely to reflect on the impact and reach of the 2021 Epidemiology chapter, which notes an impressive 404 citations (Scopus), placing it in the 99th percentile for citations relative to similar documents.
The International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) published its second paper to summarise the epidemiology and outcomes from cardiac arrest around the world as a result of Europe’s contribution to the international epidemiology.
