Young Investigator Award 2025

The European Resuscitation Council (ERC) is proud to announce the ERC Young Investigator Award 2025 – a competitive grant scheme designed to empower early career researchers to take the lead in advancing resuscitation science, education, and implementation. This award demonstrates the ERC’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of resuscitation scientists and strengthening academic capacity across Europe.

The Young Investigator Award provides up to €15,000 per project, with up to four awards available in 2025. This seed funding is intended to help early-career researchers develop and lead their own projects, build skills and networks, and generate pilot data for future studies.

Eligibility is open to ERC members who are within 10 years of their highest academic degree at the time of award, are not in a tenured or professorial post, and are supported by a mentor (also an ERC member). Each applicant may submit only one proposal per round.

The funding may be used to cover project-related personnel costs, data collection and analysis, essential equipment, software and consumables, necessary travel, and dissemination activities such as conference presentations, networking events, or open access publications. Permanent staff salaries, large capital equipment, commercial research, and postgraduate tuition fees are not eligible.

Applications must be submitted in a single PDF to research@erc.edu by 15 November 2025 at 23:59 CET. Successful applicants will be notified on 15 December 2025.

This award offers more than financial support – it is an opportunity to gain visibility, expand networks, and take the first steps toward a long-term research career in resuscitation science. We strongly encourage all eligible young investigators to apply and take advantage of this opportunity.

Applications must be submitted as a single PDF to research@erc.edu.

ERC/NRC Collaboration Award 2025

We are excited to invite you to apply for the ERC/NRC Collaboration Award 2025, a unique opportunity to strengthen partnerships between National Resuscitation Councils and to contribute to advancing resuscitation science and practice.

This award supports innovative research projects that bring together two or more ERC-affiliated NRCs. By working collaboratively across borders, councils can address important clinical, educational, or implementation science questions, while building stronger networks and sharing expertise.

Successful projects will receive up to €10,000 in funding, with up to four projects awarded in 2025. The funding is flexible and designed to cover essential costs such as project-related personnel, data collection, analysis, equipment, travel required for collaboration, and dissemination activities like conference presentations or open access publications. Projects must begin within 12 months of the award and may run for up to 24 months.

Applications are open until 15 November 2025 (23:59 CET), with successful applicants notified on 30 December 2025

This award is more than just funding – it is an opportunity to exchange knowledge, foster innovation, and create lasting impact in resuscitation care. We warmly encourage all NRCs to consider potential partners and to seize this chance to make a difference together.

Applications must be submitted as a single PDF to research@erc.edu.
